Day-by-day itinerary
DAY 1
Bir and Billing
Arrive Bir in the morning and check in. Visit Chokling Monastery and the Tibetan colony, then drive up to Billing for the take-off site and optional tandem flight. Overnight in Bir.
DAY 2
Norbulingka and McLeodganj
Drive to McLeodganj (about 70 km) via Norbulingka Institute. Afternoon at Tsuglagkhang and the Tibet Museum. Overnight in McLeodganj.
DAY 3
Bhagsu and departure
Walk to Bhagsunag temple and waterfall, visit St John in the Wilderness church and Dal Lake, then board the evening Volvo to Delhi from Dharamshala, arriving next morning.
Two towns in the Kangra valley with strong Tibetan character. Bir is known for paragliding from the Billing ridge and its quiet monastery colony; McLeodganj, above Dharamshala, is home to the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan government-in-exile. This short trip spends a night in each and travels by overnight Volvo from and back to Delhi.
Departure point: Ex Delhi. Overnight Volvo from Delhi to Bir the evening before Day 1; return Volvo from Dharamshala after Day 3.
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1 — Bir and Billing
Arrive Bir in the morning and check in. Visit Chokling Monastery and the Tibetan colony, then drive up to Billing for the take-off site and optional tandem flight. Overnight in Bir.
Day 2 — Norbulingka and McLeodganj

Is paragliding included?
No. A tandem flight from Billing to Bir is optional and paid locally; we book it with a registered operator.
Can we do the Triund trek?
Not in this plan. Triund needs a full day from McLeodganj; we can add a night for it.
